With nearly five decades of dedicated service (including 28 of these years spent in New Orleans Public Schools), Dr. Batiste has transformed the lives of countless students, supported a vast array of teachers, and uplifted all the communities in which he served. As a current member of the Orleans Parish School Board for District 4, he has consistently demonstrated his commitment to ensuring that every child in New Orleans receives the quality education they deserve. Throughout his career, Dr. Batiste has been a relentless advocate for innovation and equity in education. As Superintendent of Schools for Waukegan Community Unit School District, he led with vision and integrity, earning recognition as Lake County Superintendent of the Year in 2012. His dedication to education did not stop there; as a Professor of Education at the University of Holy Cross, Dr. Batiste continues to shape the future by mentoring aspiring leaders across all sectors, ensuring that the next generation is prepared to carry the torch forward.

Dr. Batiste’s academic achievements are a testament to his commitment to excellence.
